Built on the real Swedish rules
Bokvakt follows the Swedish moms rule that a lot of cheap tools get wrong. Moms is calculated on taxable sales, never on your profit.
Every calculation follows ML 1994:200 and maps directly onto the SKV 4700 momsdeklaration. Bokslutsmetoden is supported out of the box.

Is Bokvakt really free?
Yes. Bokvakt is open source under the MIT license. There's no paid version, no subscription, and no hidden fee. You can read the source code, change it, and share it if you want.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Everything stays in a local database on your computer. Bokvakt doesn't send anything to any server. You can back up your data as an encrypted .bokvakt file and move it wherever you want.
Does it follow the Skatteverket rules?
Bokvakt follows the Swedish moms rules in ML 1994:200 and maps everything to the SKV 4700 momsdeklaration boxes. It supports bokslutsmetoden too. You still review and file everything yourself in Skatteverket's e-services. Bokvakt helps prepare the numbers, it doesn't file them for you.
Can I use it without internet?
Yes, completely. Bokvakt is local-first. You can use it on a plane, at a cabin, or any time your internet is down. Backups can go to any folder you choose, including one you sync with a service you already use.
Which languages does it support?
Swedish and English. You can switch anytime with one click. Invoice PDFs and salary slips stay in Swedish, since those need to follow Swedish rules.
Can I track Uber, Bolt, and similar income?
Yes. You can record income from any platform such as Uber, Bolt, Foodora, Wolt, or something custom. Weekly or monthly totals are grouped automatically, and you can create invoices for the companies you provided services to.
Do I need to be technical?
No. Bokvakt installs like any other desktop app. The first time you open it, a short wizard walks you through the setup. If you can use a browser, you can use Bokvakt.
Can I contribute or report bugs?
Absolutely. The whole project is on GitHub at github.com/emalgari/bokVakt. You can open an issue if something's broken, or send a pull request if you want to help improve it.
